Glove Puppet Theater Art Class
On September 26th, Mr. Chan Siu Chung, a parent school manager and executive committee member of the Parent-Teacher Association, visited our school. Together with the Chinese Department and the library, he conducted a "Glove Puppet Theater Art Class," using glove puppets from classic works such as “Investiture of the Gods,” “Romance of the Three Kingdoms,” and “Journey to the West” as an introduction. Through interactive teaching, he guided students to grasp the main learning points and characteristics from aspects of time, place, people, and events, enhancing knowledge absorption.
To boost students’ learning motivation, encourage autonomous learning, and increase opportunities to understand traditional culture, Mr. Chan employed performing arts (body and verbal expression), psychology and behavioral studies (introspective psychological tests, character analysis), music (sound and sensory experiences), linguistic intelligence (language, visualization), and visual arts (observation, meanings expressed through images and facial masks), providing students with a new learning experience.
Students were enthusiastically engaged, actively using body movements and language to express their thoughts and ideas in the class.
