Our School's iGEM Team Achieves Record Results, Ranked Among Top Ten High Schools Globally
Our school's synthetic biology team competed at the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition in Paris this year, achieving our best results ever! Not only did we secure a Gold Award for the third consecutive year, but our entire project also broke into the global TOP Ten for high school teams for the first time. Performance in specific award categories was particularly outstanding: 'Best Software' ranked 2nd globally among high school teams, while both 'Best Model' and the 'Best Environment Village' advanced to the global top five for high schools.
This year's project, the "PestiGuard Intelligent Aptamer Biosensor," integrates synthetic biology with hardware and software development to create an innovative system that intuitively detects pesticide residues through changes in bacterial luminescence intensity. This groundbreaking achievement transforms professional laboratory techniques into an accessible food safety testing tool for everyone, fully demonstrating our students' exceptional ability in interdisciplinary integration.
Congratulations to the team for bringing honor to our school! We look forward to their continued brilliance in the field of science.
