Form 2 Outdoor Learning Day
On December 22, the school held an Outdoor Learning Day for Form 2 students. Form 2 students participated in adventure-based experiential learning at the Hong Kong Award for Young People Jockey Club Duke of Edinburgh's Award Training Camp. During this Outdoor Learning Day, various challenging adventure activities were participated in by students, including high ropes courses and team collaboration tasks. Through these activities, valuable knowledge beyond textbooks was acquired:
Leadership and Communication Skills In team tasks, mutual coordination, clear expression of ideas, and listening to others' opinions were required. Leadership abilities were naturally demonstrated by some students, who led their groups to complete difficult tasks. These experiences are considered extremely important for their future growth.
Overcoming Fear and Building Confidence When high-altitude challenges were faced, fear was initially felt by many students. However, with encouragement from instructors and support from classmates, comfort zones were bravely stepped out of, and tasks were successfully completed. The sense of achievement gained after overcoming difficulties greatly enhanced their self-confidence and resilience.
Trust and Team Spirit Many activities could only be completed when students trusted each other and provided mutual support. Through practice, the importance of teamwork was deeply experienced, and it was understood that individual success is often built upon team support.
It is believed that Form 2 students benefited tremendously from this day. Not only was valuable knowledge outside textbooks learned, but important capabilities and positive attitudes needed to face future challenges were also cultivated through practice.
