Year of the Horse Creative Fai Chun Activity
To welcome the joyous atmosphere of the Lunar New Year, the Chinese History and Culture Society, in collaboration with the Art Society, specially organised the Year of the Horse Creative Fai Chun Activity. The event invited teachers and students from across the school to join in, adding to the festive spirit through the creation of fai chun (spring couplets) while promoting interaction and exchange among students from different subjects and year groups.
This year's activity was particularly honoured by the participation of Supervisor Lui, Principal Wong, as well as distinguished alumni and calligraphy masters Senior Brother Mr. Ricky Wong Kwong-Yiu, MH and Mr. Alvin Ng Fu Kiu. They joined the students and shared their insights and techniques on Chinese calligraphy creation.
On the day of the event, the activity room was filled with a strong festive vibe. Tables were covered with red paper, ink, brushes, and various materials for crafting fai chun. Students either focused on copying traditional auspicious phrases or boldly expressed their creativity by writing blessings in their own unique styles. In this warm and relaxed environment, everyone learned traditional calligraphy skills while immersing themselves in the rich festive mood, truly experiencing the charm and significance of inheriting Chinese traditional culture.
Through this activity, teachers and students not only unleashed their creativity together and penned their New Year wishes, but also drew closer through joyful interactions, conveying the beautiful values of celebration, unity, and cultural.
Wishing everyone a prosperous Year of the Horse—may fortune gallop your way and all things go as you wish!
