After a selection process, 4D Scarlett Au and 4D Sarah Tang from our school have been selected as "TWGHs Student Conservation Ambassador 2026/2027":

This initiative is the " TWGHs Student Conservation Ambassador Programme", was jointly organised by the TWGHs Records and Heritage Office and the Conservation Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

This year's programme focuses on wooden heritage. Through classroom sessions, field trips, and hands-on practice, students will learn about the structure of wooden artefacts, as well as related restoration and preservation techniques. Under the guidance of heritage conservation experts, students will personally perform basic inspections, status recording, and basic conservation work on a pair of wooden couplets presented to Tung Wah Hospital by Hong Kong merchant houses in 1872. This hands-on experience will allow them to understand the processes and challenges involved in restoring wooden heritage. The programme aims to use innovative approaches to foster students' understanding of and interest in TWGHs' history and culture, while raising awareness of heritage conservation.

To further broaden the students' cultural horizons, a special five-day study tour to Hangzhou has been arranged for this academic year. During the tour, students will visit various cultural and museum institutions, including the Xiling Seal Art Society, the World Heritage Site Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, the Zhejiang Provincial Museum, and the China National Silk Museum. This will allow them to gain a deeper understanding of the development direction of national heritage conservation policies and the actual practice of local heritage preservation.
