Award News

Students from our school, in collaboration with peers from TWGHs Kap Yan Directors' College and TWGHs Li Ka Shing College, formed the TWGHs Secondary Schools Joint Choir. Led by Ms. Tang Ming-wai, BBS, Member of the TWGHs Advisory Board, a group of 54 choir members visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from August 19 to 23 to take part in the five-day " Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod International Choir Festival 2026". On the day of departure, the students performed a surprise flash mob at Hong Kong International Airport. Their beautiful singing delighted travelers and showed their confidence and passion for sharing music anytime, anywhere. Upon arriving in Kuala Lumpur, the choir gave two wonderful performances locally for the first time. They gave their all in the competition and won a Gold Award!

During the trip, students joined a masterclass led by Mr. Mak Chi Hoe, Artistic Director of the Young Choral Academy Chorus, which greatly improved their singing skills and musical understanding. The accompanying teachers also joined professional workshops to exchange teaching ideas with local music educators. In addition, the group watched exciting competitions and concerts, and visited famous spots like the Petronas Twin Towers and Central Market to experience the local culture.

On the last night of the trip, Advisor Ms. Tang kindly invited special guests to attend an official dinner with the students. The guests included Mr. Chow Wai-hang, Director of the Malaysia International Choral Festival; Mrs. Linda Song, Co-founder and Executive Director of Plaza Premium Group (the main sponsor); and representatives from Hong Kong Virtuoso Chorus. Together, they witnessed the students' hard work and growth. When the result was announced at the awards ceremony, everyone cheered with excitement!

To praise the students for their hard work in rehearsals and great performances, Advisor Ms. Tang gave them thoughtful gifts to reward their effort and encourage them to keep going, using their voices to show confidence and team spirit!
